Why we must learn Japanese ?
I lived 7 years in Riyadh, Never tried to learn Arabic with the passion I try to learn Japanese !
Why ? When we can't live and work with any other language in Japan, we must learn Japanese. There are foreigners who think that for living in Japan, knowing the language is not necessary and they can manage with English. Ofcourse they can just manage, but living in a country that also, world's second powerful economy should not be a Just-manage. When we live in Japan, we should try to LIVE IN JAPAN. Otherwise it is a waste of time in our life and a tiresome experience for those who try to help you to live in Japan.
1. Japanese is one of the most difficult language
2. Learning a difficult language is the real test for the brain.
So simple ! Learning Japanese is a real test for the brain !! Computer programming languages will be more easier than Japanese language !
Many Japanese people say learning English is difficult. They shy away from a foreigner with whom they have to speak in English. This 'Avoid' mentality of Japanese people many times get interpreted as Japanese version of racism to many gaikokujins.Eventhough, for living and working in Japan Japanese language is a must, the Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana combination of Japanese and the relatively tough language image makes Japanese attractive to master it.
If you get lost somewhere ?

Get lost in an unknown place is an unwanted situation. But it happens in life. Say many times Sumimasen to any Japanese you see on the road. Japanese people are crazy to help you.
Never try to show that you are a BIG ZERO in Japanese and you can speak only English. That will be the biggest mistake foreigners may do in Japan. Japanese people due to difficulty in communicating may shy away from you. Japanese people want to help. They will left aside their work and come with you in order to guide you. But we should always start with a SUMIMASEN !
This works in almost all situation. Some phrases we must remember for survival in Japan !!
